King Lugwid Tour:See the places that even inspired Disney
Enjoy a full-day Tour of the world of this dream king, King Ludwig II of Bavaria!
This tour explores the world of King Ludwig II, one of the most controversial kings of Europe. King Ludwig II, at a young age, became the constitutional king of Bavaria. Some people say that he became king at a too young age, others that he was not very well introduced by his father into ruling the state of Bavaria very well. He eventually escaped into his own dream world and created three of the most famousness palaces and castles in Europe, including two locations which we will visit on this tour. The Linderhof Palace, nestled in the middle of the Bavarian mountains, which reflects King Ludwig’s love of the French kings of the 18th century and is the only palace that he lived to see completed, and the magnificent Neuschwanstein Castle, the most famous and emblematic castle built by King Ludwig, constructed as a cliff-top refuge and featuring breathtaking views of the surrounding area, after which Walt Disney modeled his Disney Castle.
The third is Herenchiemsee Castle, on lake Chiemsee, which can be seen during our Herrenchiemsee tour.
Learn all about this king and understand his circumstances and his life and the construction of his palaces and castles better!
We have planned the tour described below, however, we focus on tailor-made tours so we can adapt the tour specific to your interests.
During this tour we will whisk you away in one of our glass-roof vehicles to the neighboring area of Bavaria.
